Want to see why I’ve been so quiet over here?

Yes, I have been quiet over here lately — and I won’t promise that I’ll be posting regularly again here any time soon. However, it’s all been for a very good reason — which I’m happy to be able to show you now!

I’m very proud to announce that I’m part of the team behind a new media company, The Wardrobe Channel. Our fearless leader is Sara Goldstein — the same Sara who gave me a chance over at The Bargain Queens, which is now part of The Wardrobe Channel. As you may have noticed, I’ve already started blogging again over at The Bargain Queens, sharing some of the great fashion and beauty deals I’ve found online. However, that’s only a small part of what’s going on at The Wardrobe Channel.

For example, at The Wardrobe Channel home page, you’ll also find the pilot of my show, Style Spice. It’s been an interesting project since it’s my first time making a video, but I hope you like it and I look forward to making more episodes.

Another Wardrobe Channel project is the Style Encyclopedia, a wiki site for all things style, fashion, and beauty related, from the biographies of famous fashion designers to tips on what to wear to job interviews and wear to find clothing for your figure and tastes. It’s still in its infancy, but it has already come a long way and I can’t wait to see how it grows when we have many, many users — which I hope you will consider being.

Of course, there is much more planned that I can’t really discuss right now. However, we do have a company blog, Inside Scoop, where you can get an idea of what we’re trying to do and why, as well as a peek behind the scenes. Congrats on this move! I love fashion (even if I’m often too cheap to buy it for myself) so I will definitely have to take a look at both the Wardrobe Channel and at Bargain Queens — which sounds right up my alley!

As both a frugalista and fashionista, my take on it is that if I have to buy clothes to wear, then they should also look fabulous and make me feel good wearing them. After all, why should I pay good money for clothes that don’t do anything for me other than cover me up?

I won’t say that it’s always easy, but I think I do pretty well buying great clothes at very good prices. Knowing what to buy and where is important. But most of all — at least for me — it’s about what I don’t buy. I’ve spent a lot less money on clothes and everything else since giving myself permission to be super picky.
