The Fabulous! Festival for February ‘08
By Meg | February 4, 2008

Welcome to the Fabulous! Festival for February 2008! We had a great turnout again and with so many fabulous posts, choosing which ones to feature was tougher than ever.
February’s featured links
I did narrow it down, though, and here are my favorites from head to toe.
Legally blonde, don’t sue
Hair is fascinating because of how much it affects one’s image, even more than makeup and clothes. Some women seem terrified to change it. Others like Tracee Sioux from So Sioux Me embrace changing their outer image to reflect how they see themselves. She presents Blond Ambition II saying, “I don’t feel like myself unless I am blond. I just don’t. That’s all.”
Get a cut with confidence
If you’re contemplating changing your style, make sure to first read Top Ten Tips - Getting Your Hair Done by Tip Diva. As always, Tip Diva does a great job of packing lots of advice into a quick read.
Fight the frump
To get you looking your best below your neck, too, Tip Diva also presents Top Ten Tips - Dressing Your Best posted at Tip Diva, saying, “Do you feel frumpy or find yourself tugging at your clothes all day? Do you know that you don’t look your best? Well, it’s time for a fashion makeover. Here are tips that will help you find the best clothes for you.”
Fashion high alert!
Speaking of frumpy, Pretty Lady is declaring a Severe Winter Fashion Emergency, posted at her blog Pretty Lady. Are you guilty?
Watch the crack!
Tracee Sioux discovered that she was committing a common fashion faux pas when her kids pointed it out to her. She says, “After my children ring-a-round-the-rosied singing about seeing Mommies butt crack - I broke down and bought a pair of designer jeans that fit ME . . . On sale of course. Have you tried Zafu.com?” Read the rest of her post Lucky, Lucky, Lucky Me, from Blog Fabulous to find out why she’s now willing to spend a bit more on pats and how she found the right brand for her.
Over at The Bargain Queens
It’s Fashion Week in NYC, and you may be asking yourself why fashion trends matter? Check out my piece for The Bargain Queens for answer. And before you get discouraged thinking that this season’s trends won’t work for you, read How to work difficult colors into your wardrobe and Why you shouldn’t give up on that style just yet.
You might be surprised! Even horizontal stripes aren’t off limits if you know how to make them work for you. For tips on doing that and creating those slenderizing vertical lines, check out The skinny on stripes and other lines: the basics.
Curvalicious
Of course, the route from runway to ready-wear is a long one because you won’t find a lot of curves under most of those haute couture clothes. I have a hunch that womanly curves are coming back into fashion, though, perhaps in part due to the reemergence of pin up art.
To find out more about this art where curves reign supreme, check out The Pin up Queen: Artist Tali Shapiro brings Cheesecake back in vouge posted at Lesbiatopia. Tali presents it saying, “Being dubbed The Pinup Queen doesn’t happen everyday.” No it doesn’t, but you deserve it, Tali!
Shoe shopping
Finally, whether you are fan of sexy stilettos or comfy flats, the Tip Diva has some more tips that will help you buy them without buyer’s remorse. Check out Top Ten Tips - Shopping For Shoes posted at Tip Diva.
What was the inspiration for the post? She says, “Tip Diva has very big feet - a woman’s size 10, wide width, or ‘Flintstone Feet,’ to be exact. Shoe shopping can be an absolute nightmare for her. She knows other who loathe shoe shopping as well, but many times, it’s because a person does not know how to properly shop for shoes. Here are some tips on how.”

Hi
I just discovered your blog and i find it great !
even if i don’t understand everything i feel how passionate and pro you are
I just quitted the press industry to create 3 month ago a blog that shows Paris through street style photo romances. It’s a new way for me to humanize fashion.
I hope you’ll like as much as people already like it.
As i need feed back from all over countries and culture to improve my work, I’ll be glad to have your opinion and why not share links to share our work and because i am sure that you share my vision : fashion is for sheep, whereas style gives personality !
For street style photo romances translated in englihs, clic the “in englisg” section
ps : if you need some of my photos, I’ll be pleased to help you.
Best regards

Welcome Kamel! I’m so glad you found me and my blog!
I’ve just looked over your site and it looks awesome! I will definitely be spending more time on it later.
And yes, I’m a big advocate of personal style that, while it may take advantage of current trends, isn’t determined by them.
Thanks again and I definitely look forward to hearing more about you and your site!
