Bristols 6 Nippies

By Meg | December 20, 2007

Disclaimer: I did receive some products from Bristols 6 free of charge with the understanding that I would review them. However, the company has at no time given me any type of input in regards to the type of review, I have received no other compensation for this review, and I don’t get any money from sales. As with all my reviews, this review is my honest opinion.

NippiesWhen a lady from Bristols 6 asked me if I’d like to review their Nippies, I was definitely a bit curious about the product since I had never worn pasties. In general, I’m not a big fan of going bra-less and therefore haven’t seen a need for them. Even after having a breast reduction, I still have plenty of bounce — and the last thing I want is to be jiggling all over the place like some I’ve seen.

That said, I’m a bit jealous of the gals who can really, truly go bra-less without consequences — that is, if they still at least use pasties. Call me a prude, but I don’t like the look of nipples showing through clothing. So, a couple days ago I decided to give these Nippies a try in the privacy of my own home to see how comfortable they were and how well they did their job.

The ones I decided to test were heart-shaped. I found them super easy to apply, and I didn’t have any problems with them sticking to themselves (unlike the tape I used to wrap presents last night), To be honest, I thought they’d bunch or wrinkle after applied. I was therefore pleasantly surprised when I looked down and saw that they conformed beautifully to my shape, just like a second skin.

I put on a t-shirt and took a look. No visible nipples. How about that, they really do work!

I continued to wear them for the afternoon and quickly forgot they were on. They weren’t just comfy, there was not the tiniest sensation that they were on there! If only bras were that comfy!

When I was changing for the night, my husband saw them for the first time. To say that he liked them would be an understatement. After he regained the ability to speak, he wanted to know how many I got and where I could get more and what colors and shapes were available. The answers are: a few, Bristols 6, and many — though I suggest wearing the skin tone ones if you’re wearing a top where the color might show through. They’re also a bit pricey for daily wear, $15 for two pairs, but there are discounts if you buy larger quantities. I’d still love to see them cut the price by about 75%, though.

Taking them off was easy and painless, but definitely peel them off slowly and make sure to use the little pads that go between the Nippies and your nipple when applying the Nippies.

Interestingly enough, last night I actually did have an occasion to wear them out in public. I have a black dress that I decided to wear last night to dinner for our 6th wedding anniversary. The top is a bit snug but looks perfect without a bra. Although the design of the dress does provide enough support that I can go bra-less in it, it lacks built in padding — and it was a chilly night. Fortunately, I had some extra Nippies! Perfect!

This is more info than I usually like to reveal, but I have tried a couple of different brands of skin-toned ones and they show through horrendously in photos that are taken with flash. I thought going without looked better.

Thanks W for the info and welcome! I wonder why that happened?! Flash photography is a dangerous thing, as I’ve learned personally. No red carpet walks for me!
