Quotes from my husband: Regarding our recent blender purchase
By Meg | January 6, 2008
Last Halloween, our Cuisinart blender burnt up while trying to make hummus — pretty pathetic if you ask me. We wanted to wait and find the perfect replacement, which I hope we did since it’s now on its way (if it works out, I’ll tell you about it later).
Now, my husband and I are trying to save money, not spend more. Of course, having the right kitchen appliances helps us save money in the long run, but I thought I’d have to work to convince him that we really did need a blender. So, I’m sitting there telling him about all the features and I’m about to read him some reviews when he hands me his credit card, so quickly that he caught me off guard.
Today, I asked him why he was so quick so hand over the Visa. This is what he said:
It’s a power tool that shreds things. Why wouldn’t I want it?
That’s my husband for you.
Oh, but it gets better. We went out to lunch today with two of our friends, the same couple we had dinner with recently. Well, wouldn’t you know, the guys started talking about blenders and decided that they needed to make a gas powered blender that could eat a full-size, hard cover Oxford dictionary like it was butter.
We gals hope that this is just a passing phase — one that will pass before it can come to fruition.
