I’ve been tagged by The Cheap Chica to give seven random facts about myself. Normally I don’t take part in a lot of chains, but… what the heck, I’ll play along. I’m usually an open book on here, but I bet I can still surprise you.
Here are the rules: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to then report this on their blog with their 7 things as well as these rules. They then need to tag 7 others and list their names on their blog. They are also asked to leave a comment for each of the tagged, letting them know they have been tagged and to read the blog.
So, here are my 7 random facts:
- I play about a dozen or so musical instruments and briefly majored in Jazz in college.
- This summer, I performed at Westminster Abbey.
- My primary major in college ended up being Classical Studies (mostly, I studied Latin), but I actually graduated with a total of two majors and two minors. I would have taken more classes, but the university wouldn’t let me.
- I graduated summa cum laude, thanks to a 4.0 GPA and a 38 page honors thesis. (Yes, I’m definitely a nerd.)
- I still have dreams of getting a masters in computational linguistics someday, but right now I’m enjoying doing web design work and of course, blogging.
- My husband and I have been married for nearly 6 years and our friends think that we are sickeningly cute. Our secret? Patience, and a commitment to solving conflicts rather than just avoiding them.
- I’m absolutely crazy about our four cats. My kitty Felix has a shoe fetish. He loves rubbing his nose in stinky shoes.
And here are a few bonus tidbits that you might already know if you’re a regular reader:
- I used to wear a size 40DDD bra which I was still bulging out of - despite being slender everywhere else. I had a breast reduction to save my aching back. Thank goodness for health insurance! I paid less than a grand out of pocket. The surgery helped spark my style transformation.
- I’m a 5′10 with a true hour glass figure. I still struggle to keep off weight and I do have problem spots. For me, they’re my thighs, upper arms, and thin hair. Careful outfit planning helps a lot, though. Hello, wrap dresses! They don’t help the hair, but they are definitely figure flattering.
- I have a couple dozen bags, dozens of pairs of flip flops, and probably a couple dozen other pairs of shoes.

Addendum: I didn’t meet Oprah like STYLEnosh, but I did meet Rue MacClanahan (Blanche from Golden Girls) at a gig in high school - and she liked my hair color. I admitted that it was dyed and she told me something to the effect of “Well, it’s never to early to start!” I knew she was my favorite Golden Girl for a reason!
