Greetings from London
By Meg | July 18, 2007
I broke down and paid through the roof for internet service here. I needed it for stuff unrelated to the blog, but the good news is that now I do get to post today.
So here’s a photo of me with a guard at St. James Palace in London yesterday. I know, what a tourist. My group walked over 7 miles yesterday, and over 13 miles since this weekend when the trip began. I’m still wearing my cute black ballerina slippers, so it can be done - though, yes, my feet hurt. They’d hurt in sneakers at this point. The dresses are working out fine except for a bit of chafing. Next time I’ve coming better prepared for that (I didn’t anticipate the humidity the past few days). My room mate suggested wearing thin bike shorts like she does. I’ll have to try that.
Oh, and as I promised to some people back home, I brought and wore my hat. Black hats seem to be pretty popular in London by the looks of it ; )

You look totaly stylish and not like a tourist at all! Great look! I do the bike pant thing as well and it’s a wonderful solution (especially on breezy days ^_^)

Thanks Icy! I’m trying… though the lanyards we have to wear around our necks is still a dead give away.
I know what you mean about breezy days now. We usually don’t get a lot of wind where I live (making it even more unbearably hot). Here I have been trying to not give a Marilyn Monroe impression since my skirt keeps wanting to fly up.

I guess the English are more about hats than North Americans!.. A shame :)
You look beautiful!!

Thanks so much!
Even there hats weren’t nearly as popular as I hoped, but that didn’t stop me. I got so many compliments on my hat (as always). Hopefully I made some converts.

You look as fabulous as always! I must say that you have good taste . . . there couldn’t have been a cuter guard there to accent your beauty.
