Can’t believe I lived without it

By Meg | June 14, 2007

No, I wasn’t paid for this review. I didn’t even get the product for free. I’m just a fan.

I rarely find a product that I’m flat out enthusiastic about, but every now and then there comes a product that truly makes my life easier and less stressful.

I’m a bit of a klutz when it comes to eating and drinking. Or perhaps, my clothes are just mess magnets. Last weekend I was dressed in my new beige and white dress when it was hit by a splash of tea. I was traveling and it blended in well enough with the design that I decided not worry about it until I got home and tossed it into the laundry basket.

It was still in the laundry basket (though fairly clean except for the spots) when I remembered that I needed a dress for this Mary Kay thing that my friend was doing. My friend wanted to take an after make-over photo of me and since the photo was going to be from the neck up, I decided to take the dress. I was planning to wear another dress afterwards, but I remembered before leaving the house that I had a To Go Stain Pen in the laundry room. I took it with me and used it on the way.

I had started to worry that maybe I should have treated the stain sooner since the dress is one of my favorites and I would have been really upset if it was ruined after wearing once. However, the tea stain - already a couple days old - came out perfectly in a matter of seconds. I ended up wearing the dress out to dinner that night, where I managed to spill thousand island dressing on my lap. Fortunately the pen was still in my purse. The spots came out perfectly again.

These things are great. I’ve even used one to take chocolate out of a white hat. Don’t ask me how it got there; I have no clue.

While I’ve had Tide To Go pens at home and in the car for a few months now, this week’s experiences have made me a believer. From now on, I’m definitely bringing one whenever I travel. I’m such a fan, that I’m considering them as stocking stuffers come December. They are great to have around, in the car, at home, at work, in your bag… pretty much anywhere you might get a spot on your clothes. After all, you don’t want to have to walk around with a spot on your clothes, especially if might mean that the stain sets permanently. It’s not a chic look at all.

Have any of you tried the Tide To Go pen before? Do you have a favorite product that has saved you from being in a jam?

YES! :) I am a huge Tide to go fan. I tend to be pretty clean though (only by sheer luck rather than fastidiousness), and when I did get a stain on my purse, my shirt or my pants, I used the pen and it disappeared with nary a trace. I worship the Tide to Go pen… :)
