Back to school for another semester

By Meg | January 10, 2008

Well, Tuesday was my first real day of class. I’m so excited to be back in band and chorus. Mostly, I’m so happy to see all my school friends again. The holiday break was too long (though maybe I’d think differently if I wasn’t just taking fun classes).

I had a great outfit planned out for my first day of class, which was supposed to be Monday. I didn’t find out that my one class was cancelled until I got there, though. So, I admit, I rewore the same outfit Tuesday. Don’t worry, I had worn it for all of about 40 minutes Monday.

Tuesday, I had chair placements for jazz band. It was a lot of work and a bit nerve-racking, but I like a little friendly competition. Tomorrow (technically, later today), I officially find out if I’m playing lead alto sax again. I don’t want to jinx it, but it’s 99% sure that I am — so hurray!

Also tomorrow, I audition to sing in the jazz combo (which I’ll be playing sax in regardless). It’s my first singing audition, so I’m very nervous. I have a great friend who’s doing it with me, though. And hopefully I can get her to sing in combo with me — which would only be fair since she’s the one that forcefully nudged me into jazz band.

It’s getting late/early here, though, so I’m heading off to bed.
